Who We Are
Our Independent Pharmacy Owners

Dipak M. Shah RPh
Dipak M. Shah, popularly known as “Danny” to his patients, is the founder and CEO of the DMS Pharmacy Group.
Dipak was born in Ahmedabad Gujarat, India the fifth of six sons of Mohanlal and Mani Ben Shah. His father was a successful grain merchant, and it was expected that Dipak would follow in his father's footsteps as a businessman.
In his youth, Dipak was a notably gifted student who did well in all subjects but showed a special aptitude for mathematics and science.
Soon after graduating from L.M. College of Pharmacy, Dipak worked at Cadila Laboratory. With business opportunities beckoning, Dipak knew the future for his family was in the United States. He made the leap into the land of opportunities in 1977. This may have been the single most momentous decision of his life.
Dipak studied at St. John’s University School of Pharmacy during the day, and interned at Pharmacia Jente Inc in Brooklyn, NY in the evening. He worked around the clock to fulfill his dream to become an entrepreneur while also anxiously anticipating the news of becoming a father.
In 1978, Dipak and his wife Nayana welcomed their first child into the world, Parthiv. Growing up so close to the pharmacy business, Parthiv saw the long hours his parents put in every day and the ups and downs of being business owners. In fact, in his teenage years, he spent many weekends stocking the shelves, working behind the front desk, making deliveries, and learning the ins and outs of the business. Not only did this give him a greater sense of ownership and pride, but it also earned him the respect from the neighborhood customers. So much so that he is lovingly known as “Sonny” (son of Mr. Shah!) at the pharmacy.

Parthiv D. Shah RPh
Parthiv graduated at the top of his class from his alma mater St. John’s University School of Pharmacy in January 2001. Since joining the business, Parthiv’s focus has been two fold - expanding the DMS Pharmacy group and serving as a voice for pharmacy business owners around the United States.
Today, Parthiv has taken the DMS Pharmacy Group and his father’s dreams to new heights. We now have 21 locations and are continuing to expand. He also serves as the Chairman of the Pharmacist Society of New York State (PSSNY).

Mayur Shah
Mayur graduated from Gujarat University with a Bachelors of Commerce. He moved to the US in 2003 and began his career with the DMS pharmacy group. He quickly learned how to manage the pharmacy and expand our business. He is involved in furthering the Indian culture through a non profit. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
Mayank Parikh
Dr. Mayank A Parikh is a second generation healthcare provider who has made it his mission to reinvent the supermarket pharmacy model by putting his patients first. His goal is to make prescriptions and healthcare affordable and simple. Mayank has partnered with several officials including Mayor De Blasio to help ban the sale of tobacco products across the city of New York. Mayank has also implemented several initiatives to help fight the opioid crisis on Staten Island. He continues to follow his father’s legacy of helping patients receive the best possible healthcare.
Heet Patel
Heet graduated top of his class at the University of Sciences in Philadelphia in 2013 with a Pharm D. He loves watching and playing basketball and traveling the world. One quote by Ben Franklin that hits home while he is busy at work is “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn”. He hopes to go back to his birthplace in Africa and reflect one day.
Dev Tailor
Dev Tailor acquired his Doctor of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, but grew up and continues to live in New Jersey where he has close ties to the community. Prior to the establishment of Pharmacy Town, he has held jobs in the industries of retail pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, and long-term care.
As a pharmacist, it is his incessant desire and commitment to become an integral part of the New Jersey community, helping patients toward their path to better health. This desire has materialized into the Pharmacy Town you know today.
Jiten Nathani
When I graduated pharmacy school in 2014 I stood with my classmates as we recited the “Oath of a Pharmacist” in unison. There is one particular vow that stood out to me as we recited the Oath and I embrace this vow, “I will apply my knowledge, experience, and skills to the best of my ability to assure optimal outcomes for my patients.” I love being a pharmacist because it allows me to use my knowledge, abilities, and talents to improve patient outcomes.
It is cliché, but I love being a pharmacist because of the impact that I can play in my patients’ lives. I have been blessed to work in community pharmacy and have been given the opportunity to become so much more than just one that “licks, sticks, counts, and pours.” I have attended baby showers and funerals. I have been invited to high school graduations and seen pictures of new grandbabies. I have discussed vacation plans and hospice care and everything in between. I have made home deliveries not because it was expected but because it was the right thing to do for that patient at that time. I have worked with patients to determine what medication therapy will not only be most effective for them but will also fit their pocketbook. I have been given the opportunity to become directly involved in my patients’ lives, not just in their health care but in every part of their lives and I believe that makes me not only a better pharmacist but a better person.
My lifelong goal was to find a career that would allow me to work directly with the public and make a difference. I enjoy seeing the impact that I have, as a pharmacist, on the quality of care our patients receive. I enjoy seeing the fruits of my labor and how my work pays off in achieving optimal patient outcomes. I love being a pharmacist!
Pharmacists are a trusted link between patients and their doctors. This position affords us a unique perspective into many facets of healthcare. I, literally, learn something new every day and I am so appreciative of that
I think it would be difficult to find a different profession that garners the immediate respect from the community that a health care profession offers. However, community pharmacy is unique among healthcare professions as our accessibility naturally allows us the opportunity to do more than just counsel on the proper use of amoxicillin. It allows us to become a problem-solver, a confidant, and a friend, and in that it allows us to do the rest of our job so much more effectively. We are the front-line of health care and that is a responsibility that I take very seriously. Our interactions with patients can truly change and save lives.
Although the profession may change as the years go by, the reason I became a pharmacist remains the same. I will always do my best to make a difference in the lives of the people I encounter every day.
